@ 5 weeks

At 5 weeks old, Zenith seems to look different now. He does resemble Celeste when she was a little baby..
Zen doesn't seem to drink formula as well as breast milk. He frequently spits up the milk or even vomits out half the feed. We are still trying to monitor if he is reacting to the formula or its just normal for his age.

Zenith is having some skin rash from the back of his head to the upper part of his body. I have positioned him to lie on his stomach instead, he resisted initially but eventually fell asleep in his new found comfortable position :-)

Freedom

I love my family, proud of my 2 children, have a doting husband, a supportive family and enjoy spending quality time with my family. I never missed partying till wee hours, but I miss shopping & catching up with my girlfriends, catching a movie and dinning at my own leisure. Its been ages since i last caught a movie and going on a holiday now is not possible. I miss the times when I looked slimmer and could fit into more clothing. It’s quite depressing to see yourself in the mirror everyday and the loosen bulge is still there.

It’s been totally exhausting these nights with the frequent feeding and caring for Zenith. I just wish to Zzzzz throughout the night. Motherhood comes with responsibilities!

4 weeks old

He's no longer a newborn.. he's already 4 weeks old and looking steady!

Zenith's Full Month

We held a small party for Zenith's full mth yesterday. Thank you everyone for their presents & Ang Paos. As for the toys given, Jie Jie Celeste can play with them first :-)

Welcome Cousin Faith

Faith arrived on 8th May at 1529hrs weighing a healthy 3kg, she is exactly 3 weeks apart from Zenith. Photos of Faith to be posted soon :-) Congratulations to Howard & Kim!

Those Days..

Its back to those days of sleepless nights, panda eyes & eye bags. I offered to sleep with him alone to allow Daddy and Jie Jie with undisturbed sleep. Zenith needs to be fed 2 hourly, in between, there is always his stretching sound, cries when he is uncomfortable or dirty.. So tired!! I wish i can get back my nice sleep... Zzzzz....

DAY 1

My confinement lady due to leave on the 17th May had to leave today after a phone call in the noon. It was unfortunate that her father had a fall and fell into a coma. Its considered Day 1 for me to look after Zenith myself. Oh man, its tiring adjusting to looking after him as well as having to entertain the bigger gal. I would often think back, how nice and relax when we only had Celeste then. Today will be my first night with Zenith.. hope it will not be too disturbing for me :-O

Check up

Zenith has gained 600grams so far, his weight gain is of average. By 1st month, babies should gain 1kg in weight. His jaundice seems mild by the doctor, but it should have been cleared by now. We are bringing Zenith to the hospital on Wed for a detailed blood test to determine why the jaundice is not clearing away.

The Bulge

I have gained 6kg post-pregnancy and am determined to shed it off soon. Please don’t think I am over stressing to lose my weight. That’s what every woman wants.. to revert to pre-pregnancy weight! Infact, after the birth of Celeste, my extra few kilos stayed with me and never went off. I tried to put on my pants which I bought from Hong Kong last year, its depressing that it can’t even fit up to my tighs! I know its been only 3 weeks since Zenith’s arrival… but i’m so scared that this size will stay with me for good! My hips has gone wider then my 1st pregnancy. I can’t imagine myself being bigger then before, I am not even slim in the first place! Hahah. I have since cut off from my unnecessary Tea break and tit-bits if possible… My biggest challenge is making myself exercise but that will have to wait till my doctor gives me the go-ahead. Hopefully, with more determination this time, I can fit into my old pants comfortably in time!!

3 weeks old

Little Zenith is almost 3 weeks old, he is still spotted with slight jaundice, we are bringing him to the Paediatrician to check that he is fine..

What luck!

I was running a high temperature at 38.4 the night before,and i thought it was an infection from my stitches. Fortunately, it turned out the fever was caused by engorgement. Just when i was feeling better, i had diarrhoea last night and the pain was so intense that i had to visit the night clinic to find out if i had gastric flu or merely diarrhoea. It was diarrhoea after all, i probably had some contaminated food. Its puzzling because i only had home cooked food! It must have been the vinegar Pork trotters! No more of that for me!
However its good to learn that its still save to breast feed after all my medication..

Starts crying

Its been 2 weeks, Zenith is more alert now. He cries more often now even if he's not wet, dirty or hungry. He has learnt something new and likes to be cuddled now. But we are trying not to cultivate this habit of cuddling him during the day.

Today, we introduced him the dummy to allow him to rest while leaving me hands free! Great for both of us! He's fallen asleep with it.. :-) "Comfort sucking" can steady a baby's heart rate, relax his stomach, and help him settle"
